Voluspa Jarpa (Chile, 1971)


She enounces the hidden nature of official information through installations, rigorous in both form and substance. She studied at Facultad de Arte, Universidad de Chile, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Visual Arts. She was featured at exhibitions in Chile and abroad since 1994, outstandingly included in biennials such as Havana, Shanghai, and VIII Bienal del Mercosur. She received the Premio de Arte Joven, Museo de Artes Visuales de Santiago in 2006. Her work La biblioteca de la No-Historia [The Library of Non-History], which includes declassified archives about Chile and Latin America, was shown in different European museums and in Brazil. She received the Illy Prize at ARCO Madrid in 2012 and she represented Chile at the Venice Biennale in 2019.
