Kazuya Sakai (Argentina, 1927-United States, 2001)


. A Japanese descendant, he was born in Buenos Aires and began to paint in a self-taught way at the beginning of the fifties while promoting his culture. He studied at Waseda University in Tokyo. He held his first exhibition at the La Cueva Gallery in Buenos Aires in 1952. He relocated to New York, where he created contemporary music-inspired works, and then to Mexico City, where he developed a geometric aesthetic.
