Jorge Macchi (Argentina, 1963)
He studied at Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Buenos Aires and joined Grupo de la X in the eighties. A Guggenheim Fellowship recipient in 2001, he works with the ambiguity of language and the unexpected, generating an estrangement context. His works include cinema and themes such as findings and paradoxes. He attended art residencies in Europe and the United States; he had shows at many organizations and spaces in Argentina and abroad. He represented Argentina at the Venice Biennale in 2005 and was featured at many international biennials, such as São Paulo, Sydney, and Istanbul.
