Julio Le Parc (Argentina, 1928)


He studied at Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Argentina, where he explored the relationship between light and form. In 1958 he won a grant from the French Cultural Service and traveled to Paris, where he met Vasarely. He founded GRAV (Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel) in 1960 and presented his first retrospective exhibition at Instituto Di Tella in 1967. He was awarded the Grand Prize for Painting at the Venice Biennale in 1966 and took part in the Atelier Populaire during the French May 1968.
