Carmelo Arden Quin (Uruguay, 1913-France, 2010).


(Uruguay, 1913-France, 2010) Influenced by Joaquín Torres García, he created his first irregular shaped paintings in 1936. He co-founded Arturo magazine in 1944 and became a member of Grupo Madí; he stood out in exhibitions in Buenos Aires and Montevideo. He became acquainted with artists such as Jean Arp in Paris. He merged collage and decoupage into his work until 1971, when he returned to painting.
